About preschool

Our main objective is to help your child become ‘school ready’ and as independent as they can be on their approach to school, whilst still having lots of fun!

We do ask politely that children do not bring their own toys into preschool, this can cause unnecessary upset if they are mislaid, broken or cause sharing disagreements. This obviously does not include comforters. However, we do encourage children to leave these at home to prepare them for a similar transition to school. Please note we are a dummy free preschool.

We endeavour to go out in one of the gardens each day, except for in extreme weather. So please dress your child for the appropriate weather. If for any reason we are unable to go outside we ensure we do a physical activity with the children indoors.

Your child will be allocated a key person to track their development and encourage specific activities to aid them in their learning. Your child’s key person is there to help your child feel welcome and comfortable in our care and for you to approach with any concerns.

Please supply your child with a labelled water bottle to use each day and a spare pair of clothes for accidents or messy play. Remember to label all your child’s belongings to avoid them going home with the wrong child or being mislaid.

All children are entitled to 15 hours of government funding starting the term after their 3rd birthday during term time only. We also now offer an additional 15 hours to those parents that are eligible. Please go to www.childcarechoices.gov.uk for more information, or speak to a member of staff about any queries you may have.
